Based on the tremendous response to The Golden Jubilee rocking horse, The Stevenson Brothers of Bethersden, England, presented their second rocking horse, inspired by Her MajestyÕs favorite colored horse, Tinkerbell, to the Queen of England, at Windsor Castle in honor of her 80th Birthday.Made over a period of ten weeks from carefully selected, sawn and air-dried English Oak grown over centuries in Windsor Great Park, this rocking horse is carved to show musculature and is constructed using the traditional Victorian method of mortise and tenon, ensuring a sturdier connection between joints than the common dowel and peg style that can weaken after years of riding. The colored horse is hand-painted to match her MajestyÕs favorite horse with exacting detail and tacked in nutmeg-colored, tanned English cowhide leather. The royal blue suede saddle blanket is trimmed in gold and silver, reflecting Her MajestyÕs racing colors. The blanket also bears the EIIR cipher, crown and horseÕs name hand embroidered by Hand & Lock of London, the oldest heraldic embroiderers in the world.Complete with a secret locking compartment (turning the horse into a rocking safe) and its own miniature woolen rug, made to the same design as those used in the Royal Mews on Her MajestyÕs own horses, this rocking horse is mounted on a Victorian safety stand, designed in 1878 by PJ Marqua of Cincinnati, Ohio, and comes complete with a real horse hair mane and tail and hallmarked gold plaque bearing the horseÕs name, makers name, date and unique number. ...Read more
